Job Summary:
Under general direction of the Probate Court Judge and in accordance with the Official Code of Georgia, performs a veriety of duties related to the administration of the Probate Court. Supervises and trains Probate Court staff, assists staff with complex/problem situations, provides technical expertise, and ensures proper compliance with established policies and procedures. Issues all citations required by law and administers all oaths incident to the business of the court. Grants termporary letters of administration; grants marriage licences; issues all writs of fieri facias for costs on all judgments of the judge or other process necessary to enforce them. Issues subpoenas for witnesses and all similar process in connection with a trial; issues any paper or process by order of the judge. Conducts hearings and issues orders as prescribed by the Official Code of Georgia: Conducts hearings; assists with jury trials; issues orders on contested and uncontested matters; holds hearings on contested and uncontested matters; orders evaluations of mentally ill persons; and appoints temporary guardians as needed. Receives, prepares, maintains, and updates Index Pleadings: Supervises the entry of pleadings into the computer; assigns file numbers; ensures that pleadings are correctly docketed and placed in file; and conducts cross checking to ensure accuracy. Prepares, completes and manages a variety of court documents, including pleadings, docket reports, preliminary hearing reports, case filing reports, court calendars, financial reports and other documents. In coordination with the Probate Judge or other designated staff, supervises financial transactions of the court, including deposits, payments to vendors, entry and maintenance of financial records, custodial accounts and all other records, and the preparation of financial records for internal and external audit.

Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, supplemented by five (5) years experience in court administration, criminal or civil justice; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Current membership in the State Bar of Georgia required.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs law enforcement and public safety work in the custody and security of jail inmates. Position requires close physical contact with inmates and direct contact with the public. Position is one of possible high stress and verbal and/or physical confrontations. Position requires that the candidate should be able to respond to any location within the jail by running. Position requires that the candidate should be able to successfully rescue an unconscious/injured officer by moving them to a safe location. Position also requires lifting (at times heavy). Written reports and mathematical calculations are required. Communication skills are critical to performance of duties. Candidates must be able to follow written and verbal directions, and work different shifts as assigned. Candidates must be able to perform multiple tasks successfully under different degrees of circumstances. The Chatham County Sheriff's Department supervises inmates under the "Direct Supervision" concept. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (no online high school diplomas), supplemented by three (3) years work experience involving public contact; or equivalent combination of training and experience; ability to complete Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Certification for Jail and Peace Officer. Valid driver's license; must be at least 20 years of age. Physical ability to defend against inmate attack, ability to lift approx 20 lbs.; ability to push loaded carts; ability to climb stairs. Vision requirement must be 20/20 or 20/40 corrected. Effective January 1, 2007, there is a physical agility test that is required by candidates for the position. The agility test requires candidates to run 900 feet and to successfully drag a 160 pound dummy approx. 40 feet. This is a one time entry level test. Special Requirements: Must undergo physical psychological and psychometric tests, observed urinalysis drug screening and background investigation (charges involving drugs or moral turpitude may disqualify candidates), driver's history (a record of numerous traffic infractions or pattern of disregard for traffic laws may disqualify candidates), and credit check. Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR certification as required. Applicants must submit copies of last seven (7) years driver's history for all states candidates possessed a license, birth certificate, high school diploma or GED certificate, social security card, all applicable documentation of relevant training and DD214 long form if applicable, current marriage license and all divorce decrees, and dispositions of any arrests with application to be eligible for testing. Job Summary:
Under general supervision, monitors the behavior and activity of patrons in the pool; provides a safe environment for swimming, enforces rules and guidelines of the Aquatic Center. Responds to emergency situations in a timely manner. Provides instruction to members. Participates in in-service training. Maintains daily logs. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of sixteen (16) years of age. No previous lifeguard experience necessary. Lifeguards must take and pass the StarGuard Training Course. Must be willing to learn and adhere to all related guidelines, rules and regulations and required training. Possess ability to provide instruction/training to patrons. Must be able to maintain good customer and employee relations. Must possess valid Georgia Driver’s License.

Job Summary:
Chatham County maintains a comprehensive mosquito control program with a FY 2015 operating budget of $3,600,000. The program serves the entirety of Chatham County including all of unincorporated Chatham County and eight municipalities including the City of Savannah, an area of approximately 440 square miles with 278,000 residents. The Chatham County Mosquito Control Department operates with 30 staff positions. The Department also maintains three helicopters and one airplane and these aircraft are the primary instruments used for mosquito control efforts as well as surveillance in remote areas. Mosquito Control aircraft are additionally used to support local police and fire departments, Emergency Management, and a number of other county departments and agencies. Professional development is strongly encouraged and the department’s staff actively participate in the American, Mid-Atlantic, Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida Mosquito Control Associations. As a measure of the stability and professional rewards of managing this department, there have been only three directors guiding this program since its operational beginning in 1957. Under general direction of the County Manager, plans and directs a comprehensive, cost effective mosquito control program that complies with federal and state regulations, protects Chatham County residents from nuisance mosquitoes and minimizes the threat of mosquito-borne disease. Essential functions include overseeing mosquito control operations; supervising, directing and evaluating assigned staff; formulating and maintaining departmental budget; communicating with the media, external agencies and the general public regarding mosquito control activities; and maintaining a current knowledge of applicable laws and regulations

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Entomology, Public Health or related field required; supplemented by five (5) or more years experience in mosquito control, personnel management, and project management; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Specific License(s) and/or Certification(s) Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Pesticide Applicator’s License in the following pest control categories: Public Health, Mosquito Control, Aerial, Demonstration and Research, Right-of-Way, and Aquatic.

Job Summary:
Under supervision and direction of an assigned supervisor, inspects the County’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) by performing and documenting routine visual reconnaissance, operating, maintaining and repairing customized and specialized video equipment specifically for underground sewer systems. May supervise other technicians. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma, supplemented by three (3) years as a technician in the storm and/or sanitary sewer industry; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must possess a valid Georgia Commercial Drivers License Class B with Tanker Endorsement within six (6) months of employment. Possess the ability to obtain a Georgia Safety Council Flagger’s License within one (1) year of employment. Must be certified as a Level II Plan Reviewer for Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control in the State of Georgia at the time of employment. Possess the ability to lift approx. 80 lbs. Job Summary:
Under supervision of the Program Coordinator, prepares lesson plans and provides swimming instruction to students according to curriculum for the various courses, levels and ages. Must arrive fifteen minutes prior to class and clean equipment up after class. Monitors and maintains records of student progress. Maintains equipments assuring proper working order. Participates in in-service training. Handles complaints in a timely manner. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of sixteen (16) years of age. Instructors must take and pass the StarFish Swim School Instructor Course. Position requires certification in First Aid and CPR training. Must be willing to learn and adhere to all related guidelines, rules and regulations and required training. Possess ability to provide instruction/training to patrons. Must be able to maintain good customer and employee relations.
