Under supervision and direction of the Human Resources and Services Director, oversees the employee benefits administration function for the County, including, but not limited to, Health and Life Insurance, Pension, Workers Compensation, Employee Wellness, Unemployment Compensation, New Employee Orientation and Educational Assistance Programs. Coordinates with the Risk Manager to implement employee safety programs and activities. Administers County employee benefits in accordance with personnel policies and procedures. Must be able to interpret and apply federal, state and local laws, etc., pertaining to employee benefits administration. Job Summary:
Under general direction and supervision of the Chatham County Board of Tax Assessors (hereinafter, The Board), this position serves as Chief Ad Valorem Tax Official for Chatham County, and ensures that all constitutional responsibilities are fulfilled, including planning, directing, and supervising the appraisal of all real and personal County properties for ad valorem taxation purposes. Plans, directs, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of assigned personnel. Plans and directs the preparation of the annual Chatham County Tax Digest; prepares and administers an annual budget. Makes decisions in relation to hiring, discipline, and promotion. Defends and provides information and recommendations regarding appraisals that are appealed. Compiles and directs the preparation of reports, correspondence and other necessary paperwork; maintains section records. Provides advice, counsel and information to taxpayers. Coordinates and confers with other County departments, officials and services. Makes periodic checks to maintain computer security. Responds to citizens in a timely and courteous manner. Attends meetings, conferences, etc. The Chief Appraiser, is appointed by The Board of Tax Assessors, who are responsible for the Chief Appraiser’s work product. Performs directly related work as required, under the provisions of O.C.G.A. Title 48, Chapter 5, Department of Revenue Substantive Rules and Regulations, and the Appraisal Procedures Manual.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Construction, or a related field, supplemented by six (6) years progressively responsible experience in property appraising including at least a year of work experience as an Appraiser IV, and experience at a supervisory/senior management level within a tax appraisal environment, including hiring, discipline and promotion decisions; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Possess comprehensive knowledge of the Georgia Revenue Code and Appraisal Procedures Manual, appraisal principles, practices and regional real estate market trends, IRS guidelines, as well as ethical standards and principles. Possess comprehensive knowledge of County policies and procedures, department operations, policies and procedures, current tax law, and budget preparation and administration. Must be able to make quick and accurate calculations and measurements. Must be able to prepare and present accurate and reliable reports. Must be computer literate utilizing standard and customized software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, web publishing techniques, document imaging concepts and ESRI software products. Must be able to perform with accuracy and speed under pressure. Possess excellent interpretive, oral and written communication skills. Must be certified in the state of Georgia as an Appraiser IV. Possess a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs law enforcement and public safety work in the custody and security of jail inmates. Position requires close physical contact with inmates and direct contact with the public. Position is one of possible high stress and verbal and/or physical confrontations. Position requires that the candidate should be able to respond to any location within the jail by running. Position requires that the candidate should be able to successfully rescue an unconscious/injured officer by moving them to a safe location. Position also requires lifting (at times heavy). Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (no online high school diplomas), supplemented by three (3) years work experience involving public contact; or equivalent combination of training and experience; ability to complete Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Certification for Jail and Peace Officer. Valid driver`s license; must be at least 20 years of age. Physical ability to defend against inmate attack, ability to lift approx 20 lbs.; ability to push loaded carts; ability to climb stairs. Vision requirement must be 20/20 or 20/40 corrected. Effective January 1, 2007, there is a physical agility test that is required by candidates for the position. The agility test requires candidates to run 900 feet and to successfully drag a 160 pound dummy approx. 40 feet. This is a one time entry level test. Job Summary:
Under general supervision, leads, assigns/schedules, coordinates, reviews and participates in the design, fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of traffic and road signs and pavement markings. Maintains proper controls on labor, equipment and materials used to inspect the County traffic, road signs and pavement markings to determine the extent of needed maintenance, repair and replacement of existing traffic, road signs and pavement markings. High School Diploma, supplemented by four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in road and traffic sign fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair, as well as exposure to road striping and pavement marking, with at least one (1) year as a lead preferred. Possess at least one (1) year experience with traffic work zone setup and knowledge of hazards and safety precautions. Must be able to lead, assign, coordinate and the review the work of assigned staff. Must be able to accurately estimate costs, time, equipment and materials needed for road and traffic sign and pavement markings. Must be able to inspect traffic and road signs and perform or direct the work of others in the performance of duties. Must be physically able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, twist, climb and lift 50 lbs.
