POSITION: ARBORIST TECHNICIAN
DEPARTMENT: Building Safety & Regulatory Services (New)
SALARY RANGE: $30,979 - $45,526
APPLY BY: Until Filled
Job Summary: Under direction of the Assistant Director of Building Safety and Regulatory Services, administers and enforces tree establishment and tree maintenance activities, and conducts residential construction code inspections; enforces and maintains compliance to State codes. Keeps supervisor and appropriate others informed, verbally or in writing, of work progress. Responds to citizens in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture or a closely related field, supplemented by related work experience. Possess substantial knowledge of tree, shrub and grass species, and tree structure and decay. Must be able to learn construction code provisions and conduct field inspections. Possess ability to learn to utilize customized software applications. Possess ability to prepare/present accurate reports; possess ability to work under pressure and deadlines. Possess effective oral and written communication skills. Valid Driver's License Required. |
