Commissioner Kicklighter (37) is married to Megan Callahan Kicklighter.  Megan is the Principal at Haven Elementary School in Savannah, Georgia.  They are the proud parents of two children, Hannah-13 and Zach- 9. Dean is a lifelong resident of Chatham County. He attended local public schools, graduated from Benedictine Military School and attended Valdosta State College.   In 2005, Dean was recognized as one of the "Top Young Business Achievers in the Greater Savannah, Hilton Head Region" by being named as one of the "40 under 40" by the Savannah Business Report and Journal. At the age of 26, he served as Mayor Pro-Tem of Garden City and at the age of 28, he was elected and served as Mayor of Garden City.  Dean is currently serving his second term as the 7th District, Chatham County Commissioner. His peers on the County Commission voted, for the third year in a row, for Dean to continue his service as Chairman Pro-Tem for Chatham County. In 2006, the readers voted for him and made him the "Best Commissioner" in the "Best Of" edition of the Connect Savannah newspaper.    Dean, a Realtor, is currently employed at Dean Kicklighter and Associates with Ben Farmer Realty.
