SALARY RANGE: $48,030 - $70,600

Job Summary: Under supervision of the Deputy Chief Appraiser, performs residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural and current use property appraisals to maintain fair market value. Trains and supervises the appraisal staff in the collection and analysis of the data required for real property valuation, including the development of land values using the appropriate methods, the collection of site-specific data, study of trends and factors that influence value and the physical measurement of the improvements or site. Interacts with other County departments and regulatory agencies.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field supplemented by sufficient experience as an Appraiser IV, including supervisory/management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must possess and maintain an Appraiser IV Certification for the Georgia Department of Revenue. Possess knowledge of and experience in appraising real property and laws and regulations related to property tax assessment. Possess considerable experience in mass appraisal in state or local government. Must possess knowledge of Georgia Revenue Codes and other appropriate rules policies and procedures. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills; must possess effective analytical skills; must be able to prepare and present accurate and reliable reports. Must be able to utilize standard and customized software applications. Valid Georgia Driver's License required. |
