| Sales and Use Tax Increase |

ESPLOST effective date is January 1, 2007
Effective January 1, 2007, the sales and use tax rate for Chatham County will increase 1% to a rate of 7 cents per dollar for general purchases and to 3 cents per dollar for food purchases. The rate increase is the result of voter approval of an ESPLOST - a special purpose local option sales tax referendum for education.
